Getting into college?

Can I still get into a 4 year, private university/college with a 2.86 GPA and a 2340 SAT I score. My SAT II Subject Test scores were in the very high 700s. I am looking for colleges in only in MA. So, if anyone has any colleges that they recommend then let me know please. I already know that I cannot get into prestigous schools, even with a high SAT score, just because of my "C" average GPA. The colleges that I am looking at are:

1. Northeastern University

2. Clark University

3. Boston University

5. Emmanuel College

6. Merrimack College

7. Salem State College

8. Suffolk University

9. Assumption College

10. University of Massachusetts Amherst

11. University of Massachusetts Boston

12. Elms College

Do I have a chance at any of these schools? Which ones will I most likely get into, if any?

Getting into college?
i would think you would be able to get into at least one of those colleges.Im wondering how youhad a 2.8 gpa if you had such a high score on your SAT. Maybe add an additional detail for me? I might be able to extend my answer based on these extentions.

Edit: Well the reason i asked this is because if you were getting bad grades because you were taking harder classes (AP/Honors) then most schools wold look at this and realize that you were challenging yourself. It would compensate a little. Im almost positive you'll get into a college you want with that outstanding SAT score. Talk to your guidance department, and ask them for some help. Also searching the schools website to see what they look for ina student is good also. Colleges generally look for smart, wll rounded, active members of society. Your extra cirriculars will help you as well. Good luck!
Reply:with that sat score i'm sure you can get into at least one four year private university/college. I'm not familiar with most of the colleges you listed, but you can go to collegeboard.com and find out information about all of them, including the importance of gpa vs. sat scores. because, like you said, some colleges consider sat scores very important, second to high school gpa, and vice versa.

To increase your chances of getting admitted, you should explain your not so stellar gpa somewhere on your application. maybe in your essay, maybe in an attached note.

the only question i have is are you a junior or a senior? if you're a junior, you still have time to prove you can get good grades. and if you're a senior...it's a little late to apply to private four year schools.
