San Francisco state
University or Oregon
Oregon State
Washington State
Ohio State
Where do you think I should go, and why?
College?..?
It depends on what you want to major in, and what type of environment you want to be in. All of those schools are great. I am partial to UO, OSU (Oregon), and WSU...because I live in Oregon....but I also know that SFSU is a good school, as I gre up in Northern California and have friends that went there.
Ohio State is a very reputable school. Their athletic program has been in trouble with the NCAA lately, but if you are not planning on playing sports for them, you don't have anything to worry about. :-)
Reply:I went to Oregon State and absolutely loved it! It's a good school for forestry, computer science, engineering, and agriculture. I rode on the mounted drill team and was on the equestrian team. They also had a rodeo team. Corvallis is a very cool town; I'd still be there if I hadn't had to return home due to an illness in the family.
Reply:Do you really have no preference? Where are you from, and how far away do you want to be?
Personally, I would say go with University of Oregon, just because it is the 'higher' of these schools. I don't know about rankings, but in UC terms it's a UC rather than a CSU (if you don't live in California, that probably doesn't make much sense. Sorry!).
San Francisco is also a wonderful place though; I go to college in Oakland, and so I go to the city somewhat frequently. You'll never run out of things to do, that's for sure!
Not so sure about Ohio, I've never been there, but everyone I know from there seems a bit... Disconnected from west coast life, so if that's what you're used to, be aware that that exists (though I doubt few will admit it). (Again, sorry if you're from Ohio; I hope I haven't offended anyone!)
I don't know anything about Oregon or Washington State, either.
Do you have any idea what you want to major in? That should be the first thing you look at. If you don't know exactly what you want to major in, then maybe look at how the schools' programs are in a few fields you think you might want to end up in.
Good luck!
Reply:One where you can get instate tuition. Out of state is over twice as much as instate tuition.
