College Application.....?

Hi, I am a junior student of a high School in Lynn, Mass. I am in rank in my class and I am planning for going to college. But I am hearing different myths about "GOOD COLLEGES" like Tufts university, Boston College, Boston University etc. My city is not considered as good city as Cambridge, Boston. I am hearing that---Though I am in the rank I might not get accepted to a good college because of the reason that ---"I am a student of a city that doesn't have too much reputation". I am really worried that it will block my chance to go to a good college. Is there anyone who can tell me if this myth is true about college---"Only students from Good cities are eligible to get accepted into Good colleges. Not the students of Bad Cities even if they are samrt"???

College Application.....?
I definitely don't think your city affects whether or not you get into a "good" college. Your SAT scores, high school grades, GPA and involvement, admission essay and application and community service all play very important factors in college admission, NOT specifically what city you're from. So just make sure to keep your grades up, study hard for the SATs and get involved either in your community or school and you should be fine!
Reply:The city that you come from should not be a deciding factor in your admissions to any college, as this would be discrimination. The city you are from will definelty not hinder your chances of getting into a "good" college. The only thing they look at is your academic abilities and personal characteristics.
Reply:no its not true as long as youre a good student, get good grades throughout high school, and you get a good SAT score they will most likely accept you.
