Does an african american with a 3.5 have a better chance getting into NYU than a caucasian with a 4.0 ?

Yes, it is true. I read an article a few years ago about an african american student with a 3.0 and a 850 SAT score got into Berkley over a 4.0 caucasion student with a 1300.
