College...?

Im a sophomore in highschool and I want to go to either Stanford, Duke, or UC berkeley, but I dont think my grades are good enough. I had a 3.5 last year and this year my gpa will probably be 3.7. I didnt really do much extracurricular activities. I've been going to a program at USC every saturday since the 8th grade. I joined Key club this year which is a volunteer club. And I did 50 hours of community service last summer. Im korean and Im in the magnet program of my school. Do you think I have a chance to go to one of these Universities?

College...?
If you are taking biology this year, be sure to take the biology SAT II this year (May or June) while it is fresh in your mind. This will help for Berkeley. You are going to need good SAT II scores and either a great ACT or a great SAT.

It is not at all too early to take the ACT and see how you do. Unlike the SAT, with the ACT you are allowed to pick and choose which one you send when you apply to college. Try for a 33 or higher. You can do it if you practice.

Take on a leadership role in the key club, and actually do something with your leadership. Accomplish something new. If you can't be president, be the chair of some committee. Colleges like to see leadership.

Good luck.
Reply:Sophomore? That's pretty good.. remember you still have junior and senior year improve your grades :) good luck %26lt;3
Reply:If you keep your grades up over the next couple years and really kick butt on the SATs. (remember to take SAT prep courses, they help!) You are on the right track with the customer service, any extra-curricular "padding" will certainly help you out. These schools are not only looking for a student with good grades, but they are also looking for a well-rounded young citizen, who will contribute to the culture and reputation of their university.
Reply:If you bring your grades up you might be able to. Your GPA is good, but those schools want near perfection. Try to bring it up to a 3.8 and get involved in more extracurriculars. Prep well for ACT and SAT and try to get a 33+ ACT and a 2200+ SAT.
