College-how to start?

I am a worried teen (17). I currently home school %26amp; will be done within the next 5 months.

I'm not sure what I want to go to college for (another problem)

I then have to look at college but a) how hard is it to get into college with a diploma from an online high school program?

b)will i have to take classes to be accepted into college?

Lastly, how difficult is college? I honestly do not feel I'm ready for the academic level of college. I'm worried that it will be far too difficult.

Please enlighten me.

College-how to start?
I'm concerned that you're almost "graduating" and you haven't taken steps to apply to schools.

You should think about what job/career you want, and what interests you. You should look online at www.collegeboard.com and www.princetonreview.com and read/borrow the Fiske Guide to Colleges and Colleges that Change People's Lives. See if this helps you narrow down the type of schools you might be looking for/at.

You need to take some standardized tests at this point, don't you? e.g. SAT , ACT or something? Unless you're going to apply to colleges that are test-optional (which more are, at this point.)

Re: college being too hard for you, I don't really have any way to answer that. Nor can I answer specifically about how hard it is to get in with an online high school program or about having to take classes to get accepted. Sorry about that! But I'm not an expert nor in your shoes so I can't be sure about these factors.

I suggest that you start to contact some schools in which you are interested and ask them about this. They can best guide you.

And, go to the home-schooling area of this site and ask there. Maybe others with home-schooling experience can more specifically help you.
