I was talking to my mom last night because I have been thinking about college, i want to be a criminal defense lawyer, but i dont know what college would be a good choice. My mom would like me to go to UOP (University of Pacific) because it's close to home..but i dont want to be close to home so i was wondering what could be some other possibilities. I'm only 14 but i have to start getting my act together so i can be able to get into college. I really want this but i dont know where to go for this.!

You should start at UoP and transfer to another university later. Being near home will provide a support network that will be extremely useful your first few years, but there comes a time when you need to trade support for quality. By then mom will have loosened her grip some and you will be independent enough to attend whichever school you want, even if it is in a galaxy far far away.
