College?!!?

okay so i am a junior and i am completely stressing out about college. I want to major in criminal justice but im not sure that there are a ton of jobs out there for that. My mom says nursing is a good field to go into. idk im confused. is there anybody our there who is high in the criminal justice field and has any pointers? or suggestions?

College?!!?
First of all, calm down. If criminal justice is what you want to choose as your major, then do so. Check places like the federal jobs website/ Department of Justice for some career options. Criminal justice is a big field and you can work for the federal or state government, become a police officer, work in corrections, work in security, etc with a criminal justice degree. Decide why you want to major in the field and show your Mom some of the career opportunities you can find easily by using a search engine or a job search website.

Nursing is a good field and with an interest in criminal justice you might want to consider becoming a forensic nurse.

The most important thing is to follow your passion; if you want to be in a particular field then make a specific plan about what you want and how you will get there. The more knowledge you have about what it is you really desire to do the less stress you will feel and the more you will be able to communicate your drive to others, including your Mom.
Reply:As olderbut says - calm down.

For your under-grad degree don't worry at all about what you study - unless you want to become say a doctor in which case you need to take certain subjects. Other than that don't give what you take a second thought as far as your future career is concerned - simply take whatever takes your fancy.

By doing that when you are finished your undergrad studies you will have the background to make an informed decision on your future career. Then do a Maters in whatever will get you that career.

For now concentrate on getting a good solid high school diploma that will get you into a good solid university - not necessarily a prestigious one. Enroll in a general program like arts, general studies, science, business etc that will leave you future options open,

Thanks
