College!!!!!!!!!!?

Ok. Besides almost pulling my hair out, I was trying to find a college that offers architecture as one of its majors. I want a school that is prestigious for architecture degrees and affordable? Do you know of any?

(When I say affordable I mean under the tution price of Yale that is $49,604 estimated per year- something way under that.)

College!!!!!!!!!!?
The first one that came to my mind was the University of Michigan, because it's a great school and I go there.

But you should probably check out this link for rankings.

Reply:KENT STATE UNIVERSITY or OHIO STATE
Reply:Cal Poly San Luis Obsipo has a good architecture program. It is very affordable, even for out of state students.
Reply:Try to find your program at http://besteducationoffers.blogspot.com/
Reply:Try looking for schools that have environmental design. It is the same as architecture, but is not called that because in order to be considered a real architect you have to have your masters in it.

My sister just got get degree in environmental design and is now working for an architecture firm. She actually went to University of Colorado in Boulder. Try checking them out.

Good Luck!!
Reply:Yea I heard Michigan was probably the best school for architecture so you can cross Yale and all the other ones off of your "I wish I could go there" list. I went to UF, or University of Florida for architecture for one year. I must say they have a very intense program and last I heard they were number 17 for architecture in the states, and for less than 20k a year, (plus housing), you should definitly look into it. I did learn alot and those projects had me working my brains out night and day but it is a good program.

Other schools I looked into where RISD, (Rhode Island School of Design), Washington University at St. Louis, Pratt, and Cooper, all of which are pretty well known schools, I do not know how much they cost though, but I'm sure RISD is one of the more expensive ones.

For your money, pick something that ranks high in your major. I don't know how you can find this information because I have tried to search also and have failed, however, searching to answer your question, I found this: http://www.aia.org/. Also check out this: http://www.dcp.ufl.edu/arch/.
Reply:What state are you from? If you have good state colleges, that could be a really good way to find a cheapish place...

For example, University of Michigan has a very good program. If you are in-state, the tuition is ridiculously cheap for such a good place. Out of State it's not quite Yale, but it's pretty high.
