College.........?

i start my first day of college on monday. i take evening classes from 6-10PM. it's an 8 month course for a medical assistant program. what ways can i prepare for it?? any tips, suggestions, or inspiration??

College.........?
Practice taking some shots of tequila and drinking lots of beer. That'll get ya started. Then practice saying "no" to drunk guys when you're already wasted...it's harder than you think, ESPECIALLY for freshman girls.

That's all you need to know for your entire first year of college. I'll chat with ya again in 12 months when you start year 2.
Reply:Get lots of rest and don't stress out about it. You'll get all the information that you need come Monday. In the meantime, enjoy the weekend!
Reply:I didn't go to college for nursing, or anything like your medical class, but one thing I can tell you about a 4 hour class is that you should arrive well-caffeinated. It's hard to stay awake when you're sitting in the same place for 4 hours, whether the class is interesting or not! Trust me on this. I've had classes like that.
Reply:My advice is just don't get behind. It is easy to put off your reading or assignments for later, but you will always regret it. Make a plan for yourself and stick to it. Always turn in your assignments on time, unless there is a real emergency.

Also, on the first day of class, try to make at least one or two friends. Exchange phone numbers. That way, if you have questions about an assignment, due date, etc. you will have a contact person to talk to. And, if you are sick and have to miss class, you can also ask to copy their notes.

Speaking of notes, I always take notes--even if it doesn't seem like the information is extremely crucial. It helps me pay attention and remember the details of what the teachers say.

Good luck. I'm sure you will do well because it sounds like you are excited about it.
Reply:Instructors who teach evening classes usually give the students an easier time (eg letting students go home earlier). So don't stress out too much about it. If you take the time to study, you should be able to get a decent grade.

If you're working, try to get some sleep between work and class. Make some flashcards so you can study during your lunch break.

You might also want to bring a recorder to class. Good luck!
