College ?

wut is college like? i am freaking out... any advice?

College ?
The atomosphere of a college is very unique depending on which one you are talking about. Some are competitive, some are more-less relaxed, some are greately into sports, some are not.

One common factor is, you will see far wider variety of students/people. Where as highschool were a collection of like-aged students, colleges are collection from fresh highschool graduate and up (including senior citizens). Also, students come from far wider locations (states).

There is nothing to be afraid of. You are as unique as everybody else and probably as qualified as everybody else. Important thing is, for you to recognize, for greater amount of freedom, choice, and flexibility, you are tasked with far greater amount of responsibility and consequences. Well, you are basically an adult when you attend colleges. Evaluate each offer of (whatever) very carefully and only take what you can be responsible for.

Study wise, expect that you'll be busy. If you have questions, make use of professor's office hours. Use student assistant's services and labs. Don't wait until someone asks you if you have questions. Go ahead and ask! Don't back down until things are explained to you to your satisfaction.

College is also a place you'll find life-long friends. Know your limits, but have fun. Remember, NO is a perfectly good answer.

Perhaps more, but that's all I can think of from my own experience.
Reply:College is a great place to learn new things and meet all types of new people. In college, I found out a lot about myself and things I was good at. I also discovered what I wanted to do in life and help other students along the way. Don't freak out...its a great experience and one you will always remember!
Reply:Don't freak out because if you spell what as "wut" you'll be kicked out before you really know what it is like.
Reply:I am a freshman in college and it is definitely not something to worry about. You will have difficult times and fun times, but they will all teach you a little bit about who you are. College is a time for you to decide the best way to live your life and to find out how it is to live essentially on your own.
Reply:It is like lots of homework, studying hard, and party, party, party, and lots of sex, but I only went for a 6 month course and got only homework and studying. Damm.
Reply:dont freak out....i'm 26 and in my 5th month in college....its nothing to freak out about, its like high school, just that what you learn in college will actually payoff in getting a better paying job.
Reply:From what I understand, it's more stressful BEFORE you get there than once college actually starts. There is tough work, but you have some say in what subjects the work is for, so that's a bit liberating. I'm looking forward to it.
