College.....!?

Okay I don't know where to start. I'm a senior in high school and may 5 is my grad date, i was planning on going to a university but my plans fell to the side, and i blame myself for that. I haven't taken my SAT, i haven't applied for colleges, I haven't even applied for financial aid. I'm just so worried that my life is going to be like crap. I know that i should've been on the ball but now that I look at I'm kind of scared of what comes after high school. I need a car, a job, and i need to go to school. I'm trying to find a job but I have youth camp in july for 5 days and I have a mission trip in june 5-9 and I don't think they'll be up to letting me have those days off. I don't know maybe I'm gonna have to make a decision on whether my education is more important than going to camp or mexico. I guess I can get a job and ask if I can have the days off and if I can't then I guess I can live with it but if you have anymore helpful hints please tell me..

College.....!?
Community college, that is what i would do, heck that is what I did. I turned down a partial scholarship to MIZZOU to attend the community college in my town. I than transferred to a state university having gotten my associates and filled all the general ed class for a heck of a lot less than it cost to go to a University straight away.

I also recieved an MBA from a private school. I had a great

time at community college learned a lot, saved a lot of money, and encourage everyone to consider it.

Also go to camp and go to mexico, the type of job you're qualified for now, doesn't pay much and are easy to find. Trips to Mexico and camp will not come along very often. In 10 years, 20, 30 years, I can assure you that you will not think back to the job you did to skip a trip to mexico.

Also missionary work, looks good on scholarship applications after you finish at a community college :-)
Reply:You should think about applying to Community College. I'm sure you'll get accepted as long as you Graduate from high school. That way you can work, and save up your money. Then after you receive an Associate's Degree you can transfer to a 4 year university!

Good Luck
Reply:Go to community college and then transfer, they don't need SAT score, just your GRAD

HOpe that help
Reply:Don't just give up on college. There's no rule saying you must go the fall after high school graduation. You definitely need a job in the meantime, but if you can't go on vacay, thats just something you will have to deal with. Going to a community college in the meanwhile is also an option, most universities may accept your basic maths and englishes taken there.

Otherwise, take your SAT's and start applying to colleges (you can state you'd like to begin in Spring 2008 if you rather not be too rushed). You can also start applying for financial aid right now, even if you don't know what you want to do. Go to http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/ to fill out a free federal financial aid form to send to schools you choose. The schools will hold your info pending your application acceptance.

In the end, this is only a decision you can make yourself. But I definitely encourage you to try and pursue your education. You can even talk to your school counselor, an advisor at the admissions dept of your preferred colleges, or someone you know who is going to college to get even more info. Don't just give up because you haven't done anything yet. You can go to college anytime you want.
